Holistic Health and Wellness: My Journey
My holistic health education began when I was diagnosed with a chronic condition called residual stress.
Simply put, I hadn’t given enough attention to releasing physical and mental tension from one stressful situation to another in my job and my life.
That state of constant stress continued for years throughout my challenging but satisfying career in university management and counselling.
The result? I became used to an unhealthy level of stress in my body. The slow, steady buildup took a toll on my mental health and my physical health, especially my breathing, digestion, and sleep patterns.
The Upside of Stress
As it turned out, my health crisis was really a gift in disguise. Not only was my health restored and rebalanced by using a variety of holistic health approaches, but I also learned practical ways to manage stress.

Batting a Thousand
I’ve also tickled funnybones with laughter yoga training and calmed others as a member of the Canadian Reiki Association.
Since 2004 I’ve taught close to a thousand corporate wellness workshops. I’ve promoted holistic health and stress management in the workplace through my own workshops and for a national employee assistance program (EAP) provider.
